THEME: The New Year is Here
SUNDAY January 28
The Ancient City Poets will host a community open mic reading on Sunday January 28 from 3:00 to 4:30 at Corazon Cinema and Cafe (36 Granada Street, across from the Lightner Museum). Saint Augustine Speaks is an open mic series that offers poets of all skill levels an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience. The microphone will be turned on at 3:00 pm and all are encouraged to share their own poems or works from their favorite writers. The theme is "The New Year is Here", to mark the beginning of a great new year for this reading series. Come out and share poems about resolutions, rebirth, and ringing-in the new year. Attendees do not have to stick to this theme to share their work. The gatherings are held "renga style" with no emcee or sign-up sheet and end when everyone has had an opportunity to share.
