These open mic readings are held "renga style" with no emcee or sign-up sheet and ends when everyone has has an opportunity to share. Free (donations accepted). FACEBOOK INVITE PAGE https://www.facebook.com/events/671083529675800/ NOVEMBER SPOTIFY.COM PLAYLIST There is an over flowing cornucopia of memorable lyrics and song titles that speak of November and this season of gratitude and giving thanks. Do we all have a version of "Alice's Restaurant" in us? Get out your notebooks and pens and write it out like Arlo Guthrie did. Side-by-side with all this sweet cranberry sentiment, it is also worth noting that family dysfunction can be a catalyst for cathartic verses. Thanksgiving table gatherings gone wrong can result in a meal of cold turkey, humble pie and the "stuffing" of feelings and resentments ... and a really good poem. Regardless if you have an attitude of gratitude or not, please dig these sounds by Drive-By Truckers, Poi Dog Pondering, Gram Parker and Thanksgiving ans others.
