SUNDAY AFTERNOON WRITER'S WORKSHOP
The Ancient City Poets will present a workshop on Sunday November 24 at the Gallery Cafe of St. Augustine, Florida (in the Staples Plaza). Please register at 1:30 p.m. The workshop begins at 1:45 p.m. Lee Patterson will be this month’s workshop leader. Lee will have three poems and an essay in Florida Speaks, scheduled for release on St. Augustine’s Poet Plant Press, in the January. A small fee of $10 at the door is request to participate, which provides for bottomless coffee and sweat treats to ignite the write and feed the need to create. You will learn how to cultivate a poem seed and help it grow with feedback from other workshop participants.

"I encourage you, if you're a regular poem-writer, to bring a draft of something you've already prepared to workshop if you'd like," says Patterson. "If you've got a poem that's developed, but unfinished, print out a few copies and bring it on in. At last month's workshop we had time to critique two poems from each writer, so hopefully we can do that again."

With that said, the following itinerary might very well be altered to accommodate writers who have poems that they wish to cultivate. It is also possible that we might break off into two groups: those without a poem and those with words that have already been written.

1:30 pm: Registration
1:45 to 1:50 pm: Introduction
1:50 to 2:00 pm: Brainstorming Session
2:00 to 2:15 pm: Draft Poem
2:15 to 2:35 pm: Group Critique
2:35 to 2:45 pm: Re-write
