THEME: Mothers and Others
SUNDAY May 27
The Ancient City Poets will host a community open mic reading on Sunday May 27 from 3:00 to 4:30 at Corazon Cinema and Cafe (36 Granada Street, across from the Lightner Museum). Saint Augustine Speaks is an open mic series that offers poets of all skill levels an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience.
Mothers Day happens during the month of May and all are invited to write poems and share words that relate to those who have given us life. If you look to music for inspiration, the possibilities are endless: Mothers of Invention, Atomic Mother Heart, "Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb". Turn your creative juices loose and share poems with mother as the muse.
A sign-up sheet will be provided and readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.
