![]() Saint Augustine Speaks Poetry Reading The Ancient City Poets will host a Scary Literary open mic reading on Sunday October 26 from 3:00 to 4:30 at City Coffee Company (1280 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd, near The Village Inn). Saint Augustine Speaks is a series that offers poets of all skill levels an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience. All are encouraged to dress up as their favorite author or book character and share well written words that relate to the season (Harvest and Halloween). In order to offer an opportunity for those in costume who are not poets, the open mic will be extended to allow short prose pieces. Copies of books by local authors will be awarded for costumes in three categories: Scary Literary, Dead Poet and Best Teen Costume. The open mic readings are held "renga style" with no emcee or sign-up sheet. The gathering ends when everyone has had an opportunity to share. Free (donations accepted).
